Leaked specs show the Galaxy Tab S7+ could include a massive battery

Samsung's Unpacked 2020 event is less than a month away, and it's safe to say the leaks are in full swing. In addition to the Note 20 Ultra, it appears we have more information about the flagship Galaxy Tab S7 that Samsung might also announce at the event. A few months ago, SamMobile reported the Tab S7 would be available in two sizes: an 11-inch and 12.4-inch version (known as the Tab S7+). Now, the publication reports that it has a few more details on exactly what to expect for the bigger version. Apparently, the S7+ will include an AMOLED display (complete with an in-display fingerprint sensor) with a 2,800 by 1,752 pixel resolution. It's also set to support the S Pen complete with built-in Bluetooth. As with the Tab S6, you'll likely be able to use the S Pen as a remote to take photos, click through PowerPoint presentations, and more. Under the hood, it's said to pack the new Snapdragon 865+ processor (running Android 10), along with a choice between 6GB of RAM ...

OnePlus Nord design revealed in even more leaked images

Image
As the OnePlus Nord release date approaches, a series of new leaks offer us more details about the handset. An official teaser image meant to promote the July 21st launch date has leaked. Separately, photos showing the internal camera setups for the OnePlus Nord also made their way online. The OnePlus Nord is expected to feature a mid-range processor like other 2020 Android handsets, but the phone will be more affordable than similar devices. The OnePlus Nord will not be a flagship phone, which is usually what you’d expect from the famous Chinese smartphone maker that emerged a few years ago as an alternative to expensive Android phones. In recent years, OnePlus phones have become increasingly more costly, as they’ve reached feature parity with their rivals. But OnePlus is determined to release an affordable phone this year, which couldn’t have come at a better time. Millions of people are out of work as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic, and smartphones aren’t exactly essenti...

The Unreal Engine is used to create many popular game franchises, such as Borderlands and Gears of War, along with Epic’s own Fortnite. The fifth iteration, Unreal Engine 5, made its debut this summer and was demonstrated on PlayStation 5 hardware, signaling the close collaboration between Epic and Sony. Instagram begins Reels test in India after TikTok is banned

Image
TikTok has had a difficult week, to say the least — and rival Instagram just made it much harder. India, which has the most TikTok downloads outside of China, announced late last week that it would ban the popular video-sharing platform and several other Chinese apps, saying they pose a "threat to sovereignty and integrity." And the United States, the third-largest TikTok market, may follow India's lead. Now, Instagram is hoping to fill India's TikTok-size void with its own video-sharing feature called Reels. Facebook, Instagram's parent company, said it would begin testing Reels in India on Wednesday. "We're excited to expand our test of Instagram Reels to India," a Facebook spokesperson said. Reels gives anyone the ability to create and discover short form videos, which is how more and more people are enjoying and creating content." Instagram began testing Reels in Brazil in November, and has since expanded into France and Germany. The in-app ...

The Moto G 5G Plus proves that 5G phones don't have to be expensive

Motorola There's one quality nearly all 5G phones have in common: They're expensive. It will cost you at minimum $999 to buy a Motorola Edge Plus or one of the phones from the Samsung Galaxy S20 family. Depending on the carrier, the OnePlus 8  and LG V60 are slightly less expensive ranging from $700 up to $900 respectively. And who knows how much Apple will charge for its heavily rumored iPhone 12, which is expected to have 5G. Realme 30W power bank, Realme C11 to launch in India soon

Image
Realme has quietly listed the 30W Dart Charge power bank on its India website. The support page of Realme’s Indian website shows the 30W Dart Charge power bank with a model number RMA156. However, clicking that leads to nothing but the listing indicates an imminent launch in the country. Also, it looks like the Realme C11 is ready to launch in India.  Realme brought close to eight exciting products alongside the X50 Pro Player edition in China back in May. That included the Realme 10,000mAh Power Bank 2 with 18W fast charging via Type-C. The design of the power bank was a unique carbon-fiber textured finish which the company said was created using an advanced lithography technique. However, the highlight of the auxiliaries was the 10,000mAh power bank with support for the company’s proprietary 30W Dart Charge. Realme also claimed that the new power bank will offer 53% faster compared to the lower-rated 18W charging. (Image credit: Realme) While the new power bank allows the VOOC/Da...

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 865 Plus is its most powerful mobile chip, designed for gaming

Image
Qualcomm has announced a refreshed version of its flagship Snapdragon 865 processor called the Snapdragon 865 Plus, which is designed to boost performance by almost 10 percent for gaming and AI applications. There are three key improvements of the Snapdragon 865 Plus from the stock standard 865: The Kryo 585 CPU has had its clock speed boosted up to a maximum of 3.1GHz, which is 10 percent higher than the standard 865 The Adreno 650 GPU offers 10 percent faster graphics rendering Newly added compatibility for Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6900 connectivity suite, which the company says supports Wi-Fi speeds up to 3.6Gbps It’s a similar refresh to last year’s Snapdragon 855 Plus model, which offered improvements to CPU and GPU performance for gaming compared to the regular 855. It also means that Qualcomm isn’t using the midyear refresh to add the most anticipated upgrade to the Snapdragon 865: integrating the Snapdragon X55 modem into the main chipset instead of requiring a separate component...

Samsung's Next Galaxy Unpacked Event is Aug. 5, and We're Excited to See Whatever This Copper Thing Is

Image
It’s probably a phone. Image: Samsung After months of rumors, Samsung has finally confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event is Aug. 5. Unlike previous Unpacked events, this one will be entirely digital, which means anyone can watch to see what the company will reveal. (Spoiler alert: It’s almost certainly gonna be a giant copper phone.) You may be thinking to yourself, “Huh, didn’t Samsung just have a Galaxy Unpacked event?” Yes, yes they did. But that was in the Before Times: February, to be exact. Covid-19 hadn’t yet shut the entire world down, and to be honest I don’t even know how you remember that far back. I actually attended that Unpacked event in San Francisco and it feels like a lifetime ago. Taking a plane to attend a smartphone launch in a packed venue? What a world. Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Flip at that event, which was a cool and fun phone that apparently sold pretty well. But Samsung is rumored to have more phones in store for this year, including a Galaxy Note ...

Samsung Q60T/Q65T (QE55Q65T) review: this cheap 4K QLED TV is a budget winner

Image
© Provided by T3 Samsung Q60T/Q65T review Welcome to T3’s Samsung Q60T/Q65T review. This Samsung’s cheapest 4K QLED TV for 2020, but has quite a few features from higher up Samsung’s QLED pecking order – including the excellent Tizen-based Smart TV interface. The reason we've mentioned two models (the Q60T and the Q65T) here is that they're functionally identical, but with different stand colours. Different retailers will stock different models, but the important stuff is all the same. It’s available in a very wide range of screen sizes, which is one reason why it will be a hugely popular TV, but we specifically tested the 55-inch version, known as the Samsung QE55Q65T. Pick a slightly smaller version than this and the bill will be less than four figures, which is why it counts as one of the best TVs under £1000 we’ve seen. Between picture quality and functionality, it makes plenty of sense, and it’s also adept as a gaming TV, thanks to its impressively low lag (though there ar...

The OnePlus Nord will make its official debut on July 21

Image
In late June, OnePlus revealed its plans to release a "more affordable" smartphone. Details, at the time, were vague, other than the fact that OnePlus plans to limit its availability to Europe and India. We've seen more information released, slowly, about the new phone, called OnePlus Nord, on the official OnePlus Nord Instagram account. There are now two parts of a documentary posted to the account, detailing the company's approach and thinking behind the Nord. Each episode is about 10 minutes long.  On Tuesday OnePlus posted an invite for the Nord launch event on July 21. More specifically, the event is an augmented reality event, requiring only the OnePlus Nord AR app to attend. There's also a chance to get a physical invite to the event, which will have a QR code recipients scan.  OnePlus OnePlus released an Android and iPhone version of the Nord Launch app. The iPhone app isn't live yet but should be soon. You can install and setup up the app...

Poco M2 Pro announced with big fast-charging battery for under $200

Image
Newly independent Xiaomi spin-off Poco has announced its latest smartphone, further broadening the brand beyond the Poco F1’s initial pitch of high specs for low prices. Like the X2, the M2 Pro is more of a mid-range affair: it’s basically a tweaked version of Xiaomi’s global Redmi Note 9 Pro that’s aimed at the Indian market. No-one will mistake the M2 Pro’s spec sheet for that of a flagship, but it could be a compelling option for customers who prioritize battery life. There’s a 5,000mAh battery with a 33W fast charger included in the box; Poco says it should provide a 50-percent charge in 30 minutes. Combined with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, I’d expect this phone to last a pretty long time. The M2 Pro has a 6.67-inch 1080p LCD with a 16-megapixel hole-punch selfie camera. There’s a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. The camera setup includes four sensors: 48-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultrawide, 5-megapixel macro, and 2-megapixel depth. The phone is...
